Amidst a crowded field of charity outings held on Long Island, the MMF outing is quickly finding a place for itself among the most successful events in the region. The nearly 120 golfers on the course at Cold Spring Country Club enjoyed a great round of play with friends and associates as more than $140,000 was raised for this important cause.

At the evening reception and dinner a special Community Ambassador Award was presented by Nassau County Legislator Josh Lafazan to Ryan Dempsey for his dedication to and support of the MMF. When asked about how he first got involved with the organization, Dempsey noted “I met the Magro family back in elementary school. They went through a lot but took all of that experience to create something so wonderful. It’s a great cause and they’re a great family. Everyone came out today to support them and have a beautiful day. I’m so happy to be a part of what this organization does.”

The golf committee, which worked tirelessly to put the event together had one big surprise for the evening. A new award, The Founders’ Award, was presented to Terrie Magro, co-Founder and Vice President of Michael Magro Foundation. She accepted the award and gave her thanks to a standing ovation. “I could not be more humbled by this wonderful honor. Paul, Marc and I give our hearts ever day in memory of Michael. I am so grateful to all of you and everyone we have met along this journey for their support.
