2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing for Michael Magro Foundation a BIG Success

Long Island, NY: Michael Magro Foundation, the beloved charity working to help families with a child battling cancer and other catastrophic illnesses, hosted its second annual golf outing on June 6, 2019. Amidst a crowded field of charity outings held on Long Island, the MMF outing is quickly finding a place for itself among the most successful events in the region. The nearly 120 golfers on the course at Cold Spring Country Club enjoyed a great round of play with friends and associates as more than $140,000 was raised for this important cause.

At the evening reception and dinner a special Community Ambassador Award was presented by Nassau County Legislator Josh Lafazan to Ryan Dempsey for his dedication to and support of the MMF. When asked about how he first got involved with the organization, Dempsey noted “I met the Magro family back in elementary school. They went through a lot but took all of that experience to create something so wonderful. It’s a great cause and they’re a great family. Everyone came out today to support them and have a beautiful day. I’m so happy to be a part of what this organization does.”

The golf committee, which worked tirelessly to put the event together had one big surprise for the evening. A new award, The Founders’ Award, was presented to Terrie Magro, co-Founder and Vice President of Michael Magro Foundation. She accepted the award and gave her thanks to a standing ovation. “I could not be more humbled by this wonderful honor. Paul, Marc and I give our hearts ever day in memory of Michael. I am so grateful to all of you and everyone we have met along this journey for their support. Every year we are able to touch more lives and impact more families because of all of you…and I am so thankful.”

The 2019 outing was sponsored by: East End Group, the Event Sponsor, and Priority Payment Systems, the Dinner Sponsor, as well as A1 Roofing, All County Millworks, BDO, Branching Out Tree Service, Colton Enterprises LLC, Elite Studio E, Geneva Capital Management, Greenblatt Agulnick, Gutterman’s Funeral Homes, MTN Matchmaking, the Law  Office  of Matthew A. Rubino, Scotto & Melchiorre Group LLC, Total Fire Protection, and Robert Zabbia/AllState.

Special thanks to both “Big Mike” Sangiamo, 103.1 FM’s midnight DJ, emcee for the evening, and Miss Long Island Teen 2019, Geanna Koulouris, event good will ambassador.

Information on the 2020 event will be available on the organization’s website shortly.
