Feeding Families; Feeding Souls

The past weeks have been flooded with information overload about COVID-19. At Michael Magro Foundation, we remain committed to being present for families relying on our support while they care for a child with cancer. We believe these times will NOT be defined by stress or anger. Rather, they will be defined by the goodness of others stepping up to help.

Michael Magro Foundation is grateful for Tony and Nancy Lubrano and Piccola Bussola, Mineola, NY for being the latest friend to step up with his help and his fabulous food.

As of March 24th, Piccola Bussola is partnering with MMF to make prepared Italian dishes for the families of the children at NYU Winthrop Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) available. All meals purchased for the families will be delivered daily by Tony and Nancy directly to CCFK, where social workers will pick them up and bring them to the families for supper.

Laughter occurs around the dinner table. We are hoping these meals together, complete with delicious food, will make the hospital stays easier for our families. At the same time, we are supporting a local restaurant during this very hard time for all restaurants and hospitality businesses!

Staff at the hospital were so impressed by this program that they asked if they could order their own food. After an emotional day of work during this truly challenging time for healthcare workers, bringing hot meals home to their families is just what the doctor ordered. Mangia!
