HHS Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team Delivered Toys to Winthrop University Hospital Pediatrics
Every year the HHS varsity boys lacrosse team collects toys and gift cards to distribute to the children in Pediatrics and Pediatric ICU at Winthrop University Hospital. This tradition is one that Coach Thomas Kinsella and the boys look forward every year.
We start the day with a group picture in front of the tree in the lobby and then we go up to 5 north. With the guidance of Christina, one of the child life specialists, the boys separate the toys: boys, girls and infants.
Christina goes room to room with us and identifies the age of the child and the boys pick one or two toys to give to each child as they wish them a happy holiday and talk to them for a few minutes. If a sibling is visiting they also receive a toy! Gift cards for some of the older kids are also a big hit. These boys represent the Michael Magro Foundation, they are so respectful and kind, that each year we are the
only group that is allowed to go room to room and deliver the toys in person.

“I am so proud of this tradition that was started over 6 years ago by the team and some of the Moms. Lacrosse is a sport that is near and dear to Paul, Marc and I and this day is one that I treasure. Thank you coach Kinsella, the entire team and all the organizers behind the scenes.” ~Terrie Magro
