Michael Magro Foundation Presents a $35,000 Check to Project SOAR

Early December, the Michael Magro Foundation presented a $35,000 check to Project SOAR at the Cancer Center for Kids at NYU Winthrop Hospital. The program is designed to increase each child’s chances for a successful academic experience during treatment, as well as after treatment has ended.

This money will allow the psychosocial team to continue to meet the ever-developing, critical academic needs of their school-age pediatric hematology and oncology patients. For children to thrive in the classroom, they need a smooth transition and often require ongoing assistance — sometimes through their college years. Project SOAR nurtures the pediatric cancer patient, their family, and the academic community, empowering the success of their collaborative efforts.
